Sustainability

OUR WORK

ASELSAN's sustainability efforts are divided into three categories as our world, society and economy, and targets to be achieved in line with the principles established within each scope are created and regular improvement is ensured.

Environmental Responsibility

Within the scope of the practices of the environmental management system, parameters that cause air pollution are also controlled in accordance with the provisions of the legislation. An application was made to the Ankara Governorship Provincial Directorate for Environment and Urbanization within the scope of the relevant article for the campuses where ASELSAN's production activities are carried out and ASELSAN campuses were exempted from the environmental permit on emission. As a result of the exemption, although ASELSAN is not obliged to make measurements, SOx , NO, NO2 , NO , NOx , VOC, Dust, PM (10) etc. measurements are made in chimneys at certain periods in order to determine and evaluate the pollutant load it gives to the environment.

In the measurements, it was observed that the emission values were much less than the values permitted by the legislation and that there was no intense emission from the process. In cases such as an increase / change in existing processes, increase in production capacity, increase in nominal thermal power, addition of new buildings or work areas, etc., the relevant measurements are renewed or additional measurements are made and re-evaluated.

Compliance with legal and other environmental requirements and current practices are regularly checked by an independent certification company every year at ASELSAN campuses. Emission measurements are also reviewed during the audits and no negative issues have been detected so far. In ASELSAN campuses, which are exempt from emission permit and continuous measurement obligation, emission values are continuously monitored through additional measurements made in case of changes and capacity increases and renewed measurements at specified intervals.

The design departments working under the Sector Presidencies continue their works to ensure that product and packaging designs are produced in the most optimized way in terms of environment and climate change. Within the framework of environmental awareness standards in the world, RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant materials are used in designs, and production is carried out by determining the class in accordance with IPC standards. In each Sector Presidency and Production department, efforts are made to design environmental development processes, to reduce the amount of PVC used and to prefer recyclable PVC packaging materials. It is planned to monitor the amount of PVC used as a KPI (Key Performance Indicator) and continuously analyze the efficiency of the work.
