The KORKUT Air Defence Gun System, one of the most remarkable air defence system designed and developed by ASELSAN, is the highlight of our exhibited systems at EUROSATORY as it is showcased integrated on an 8x8 vehicle for the first time at an exhibition abroad.
The system, already in the inventory of Turkish Armed Forces in a tracked vehicle configuration, can be adapted to meet changing operational needs, whether stationary, integrated on a tracked vehicle, or on an 8x8 vehicle. This adaptability allows it to perform more effectively in different geographies and challenging terrains.
It is an advanced air defence system designed for the effective air defence of mobile units and mechanized troops, featuring a stabilized and unmanned gun turret capable of firing on the move. Equipped with the ATOM 35 mm Airburst Ammunition firing power, which is also an ASELSAN product, KORKUT delivers effective defence against a range of threats including helicopters, aircraft, cruise missiles, air-to-ground missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. KORKUT Air Defence Gun System provides the following solutions:
• Twin barrel 35 mm Gun Turret with fire speed of 2 x 550 rpm
• Effective use of Air Burst Ammunition against Fixed/Rotary Wing Aircrafts, Cruise Missiles, Air-to-Ground Missiles and Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs)
• Automatic Linkless Ammunition Feed Mechanism (ALAFM) which brings the unique capability of loading two different types of ammunition at the same time into the magazine and makes it possible to change the type of ammunition to be fired within less than 15 seconds.
