ASELSAN has become the center of attention at Azerbaijan Defense Exhibition (ADEX) in Baku with the critical agreements it signed, including the sale of ASELFLIR-500 and TOLUN. In frame of the exhibition, the company strengthened its cooperation with Azerbaijan to include joint production and technology transfer in critical areas.
ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defense company, left its mark at ADEX 2024 by signing strategic agreements to establish new partnerships. Accordingly, the company signed agreements on communication and information security systems with the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense; as well as Memoranda of Understanding on electronic warfare with National Aerospace Agency of the Ministry of Defense Industry (MAKA) and on joint production of ASELSAN Smart Munitions in Azerbaijan with the Scientific Research Institution of the Ministry of Defense Industry (ETI). The sale of ASELFLIR-500 and TOLUN, integrated on AKINCI, was also realized based on the agreements signed during ADEX 2024.
On the first day, the company hosted President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at its booth and introduced the unique features of ASELFLIR-500 Electro-Optical Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Targeting System, which stands out with its superior performance in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). ASELFLIR-500 is ASELSAN’s next-generation electro-optical system for air platforms, which was domestically developed after Canada imposed an embargo on drone cameras to Türkiye. ASELSAN displayed the capabilities of ASELFLIR-500 with a live demonstration for the first time at an international exhibition.
Besides ASELFLIR-500, visitors are getting a glimpse of ASELSAN’s advanced systems including air platform payloads, radars, guided munitions, guidance kits and communication and border security solutions at ADEX 2024. ASELSAN's Tactical Field Communication System TASMUS; Thermal Sight for KORNET-E Anti-Tank Guided Missile SAGER-100; 40 mm physical destruction system ŞAHİN; and Mobile Search Radar MAR are on display for the first time. Additionally, Steel Dome concept and its components are on display at ASELSAN booth during ADEX 2024.
ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol commented on the company’s participation in ADEX 2024: “As ASELSAN, we have a long presence in Azerbaijan with our first subsidiary ASELSAN Baku, established 30 years ago, reinforcing our relations with brotherly Azerbaijan. As a reflection of these strong ties, we are now extending our partnership with Azerbaijani defense industry to a new level, which includes joint production and technology transfer. We will continue our cooperation with Azerbaijani Defense Industry in the years to come within the framework of ‘One Nation Two States’ approach.”
