FIRST LIVE FIRE TEST OF GÖKSUR SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED

The first test launch of GÖKSUR, Türkiye's national and indigenous naval point defense missile system has been successfully conducted from a surface platform. The test was conducted from TCG BEYKOZ vessel on February 16th, off the coast of Sinop, in northern Türkiye.

ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defense company, conducted the first test launch of GÖKSUR Vertical Launch System (VLS) successfully which marks a pivotal advancement in Türkiye’s defense capabilities, reinforcing the nation's commitment to safeguarding its naval domain. The system is a critical component of Türkiye's layered air defense system, known as Steel Dome, which is also effective in the protection of naval assets against threats from anti-ship and cruise missiles, armed and unarmed aerial vehicles, fighter jets, and helicopters.

GÖKSUR has been developed by ASELSAN and TÜBİTAK SAGE, to meet the needs of the Turkish Navy, featuring GÖKSUR IIR missile, which boasts high-performance capabilities and bi-directional data link communication. The modular design of GÖKSUR which allows for easy adaptation to various frigates and corvettes, garnered significant attention at the EURONAVAL 2024 exhibition held in Paris in November, highlighting its advanced features and capabilities.

The system has multiple configurations, including GÖKSUR 100-N VLS Vertical Launch System, GÖKSUR 100-N/StA (turret with the ability to operate stand-alone) and GÖKSUR 100-N, the new 20 missiles configuration which features GÖKSUR IIR missile. These configurations enhance the operational readiness and versatility of the naval forces.

Key features of GÖKSUR include 360-degree threat elimination capability, next-generation infrared seeker-guided munitions, high effectiveness against low-flying threats, multi-engagement capability, and an AI-supported fire control system. Its modular architecture facilitates integration with platforms of various sizes, allowing for independent operation or integration with the platform's combat management system. The system's data link capabilities provide uplink and downlink mid-course guidance, significantly enhancing Türkiye's ability to defend its naval interests.
