ASELSAN signs sales contract with Polish AMZ Kutno for surveillance systems

In a significant development for both defense and international cooperation, ASELSAN has signed a major sales contract with Polish firm AMZ Kutno. The agreement, finalized in November, involves the export of a cutting-edge reconnaissance-surveillance mast system. This system, which includes radar, electro-optical, and electronic components, will be mounted on Poland’s Light Armored Reconnaissance Surveillance and Transport Vehicle (LOTR-Kleszcz).

This deal is the first under the framework agreement established in June between ASELSAN and AMZ Kutno, which covers the supply of 286 reconnaissance-surveillance systems. The systems are set to strengthen the capabilities of Poland's armed forces, an essential NATO and EU member, enhancing their defense and surveillance operations. The partnership is expected to continue until 2035, with the possibility of future collaboration in other defense technologies.

ASELSAN’s growing presence in Poland, including the opening of its Poland office in 2024, is expected to pave the way for future collaborations with AMZ Kutno across various other fields. With the two companies working in close partnership, this agreement marks the beginning of a long-term, strategic relationship that promises to strengthen defense capabilities both in Poland and across NATO.

The LOTR-Kleszcz project is one of Poland’s most prominent defense contracts for 2024, positioning AMZ Kutno as a key player in the country’s defense industry. This achievement has further elevated the company’s profile, earning it the 2024 National Achievement Award from the Polish Presidency in November.

ASELSAN showcases systems and products at Blue Whale exercise

Mavi Balina (Blue Whale) 2024 exercise, hosted by Türkiye, was conducted in the Eastern Mediterranean with NATO units and representatives from several countries participating as observers. During the exercise, ASELSAN’s game-changing naval solutions such as DÜFAS, Submarine Systems, MARLİN and DERİNGÖZ, attracted significant attention.

The exercise was held between 4-14 November with the participation of 13 countries and NATO elements. At the exhibition held at Aksaz Naval Base, ASELSAN showcased its advanced underwater and surface technologies, including FERSAH 100 MS Multistatic Sonar Suit System, DERİNGÖZ 100M/600 Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, and DÜFAS 100-CU Low Frequency Towed Active/Passive Sonar System, all of which received high praise from the participants.

A notable feature of the exercise was FERSAH 100 MS Multistatic Sonar Suit System, which was developed entirely with ASELSAN's domestic capabilities. This integrated sonar system is used to detect, track, classify, and locate underwater threats, including submarines, torpedoes, unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), anchored mines, and high-speed patrol boats, in both open sea and coastal waters.

DERİNGÖZ 100M/600 Autonomous Underwater Vehicle stands out as a versatile underwater vehicle designed for reconnaissance and surveillance. With a working depth of 600 meters, DERİNGÖZ can operate for up to 15 hours with its modular system architecture and extendable battery. The vehicle offers wireless communication capabilities and is designed for ease of use and maintenance.

Among ASELSAN's game-changing technologies, DÜFAS 100-CU provides the ability to detect underwater threats, especially submarines, at long distances. It can be used on various surface platforms and unmanned surface vehicles due to its compact and lightweight design.

ASELSAN's FERSAH 100-S submarine sonars, developed specifically for submarines, also received significant attention during the exercise. ASELSAN has the capability to produce all the acoustic sensors aboard a submarine and continues to work on the development of next-generation sonar sensors.

DÜFAS 100/LR enables the detection of underwater threats, especially submarines, by surface ships. The system uses both active and passive sonar capabilities to detect submarines and torpedoes at long ranges.

With MARLİN, the first Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) added to the inventory of the Turkish Navy, our fleet has gained the ability to conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, intelligence, patrol, surface warfare, electronic warfare, and antisubmarine warfare missions without manned units.
