As part of Türkiye’s high-level defense industry delegation, ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol took part as a keynote speaker at the Defense Industry Forum during the NATO summit, underscoring ASELSAN’s leadership role in shaping the future of defense collaboration among NATO allies.
ASELSAN participated in the NATO Summit 2025 held in The Hague, Netherlands to highlight Türkiye’s advanced technological capabilities and explore new areas for international cooperation. During his speech at the Defence Industry Forum, ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol discussed the evolving security needs of allied nations and stressed the importance of joint solutions in today’s complex defense challenges. He emphasized ASELSAN’s readiness to contribute to global security through its high-tech, reliable, and field-proven solutions, backed by nearly five decades of experience.
With the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Turkish defense leaders including the Secretary of Defence Industries, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, the NATO summit served as a key platform for ASELSAN to engage in strategic dialogues with NATO partners, explore joint projects, and strengthen international ties.
ASELSAN took a significant step in its Asia-Pacific growth at INDODEFENCE 2025 in Jakarta by signing five strategic agreements across key domains including radar, surveillance, cybersecurity, command and control systems, weapon technologies, and naval platforms.
The agreements were signed with leading Indonesian and international defense companies, aiming to boost local capacity and foster sustainable industry collaboration. The partnership with PT LEN Industri under DEFEND ID covers technology transfer and co-production in advanced electronic systems. The agreement with Czech-based CSG Group and Excalibur Army will center around integrating ASELSAN technologies into PATRIOT 4x4 vehicles, enhancing land systems capabilities.
Agreements with PT PINDAD and PT PAL extend ASELSAN’s support to Indonesia’s defense modernization goals. Collaboration with PT PINDAD will focus on weapon systems and fire control technologies, while the partnership with PT PAL will work with ASELSAN on naval upgrades and new shipbuilding programs. By strengthening regional partnerships and transferring critical know-how, ASELSAN contributes to greater self-reliance, industrial growth, and sustainable security solutions in Southeast Asia.
As part of its ongoing global expansion strategy, ASELSAN has officially opened its Indonesia office to deepen its presence in Southeast Asia and strengthen ties with the Indonesian defense industry. The inauguration took place during the INDODEFENCE 2025 exhibition in Jakarta on June 13.
ASELSAN Indonesia is set to become a strategic hub for regional collaboration, offering tailored solutions and on-site support to local partners. This milestone reflects ASELSAN’s commitment to long-term cooperation, localized development, and contributing to the sustainable growth of Indonesia’s defense ecosystem. The opening ceremony was attended by high-level officials from Türkiye, including Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Secretary of Defense Industry, and ASELSAN President & CEO Ahmet Akyol.
During the ceremony, Ahmet Akyol highlighted the significance of the company’s growing footprint in Southeast Asia by stating: “We are proud to bring advanced capabilities and reliable cooperation to an important strategic market with our new office in Jakarta. Through our deepening ties in the region, ASELSAN Indonesia will serve as a direct link to local partners and support sustainable, high-impact cooperation through on-site services.”
ASELSAN participated in Paris Air Show 2025, one of Europe’s premier aerospace exhibitions, where the company showcased its advanced technologies developed for next-generation manned and unmanned aerial platforms. ASELSAN presented a broad portfolio including avionics, electro-optics, radar systems, electronic warfare technologies, precision guidance kits, and airborne communication systems.
As part of its strategic focus on strengthening global partnerships, driving innovation, and contributing to future air combat concepts, ASELSAN highlighted TOYGUN embedded electro-optical targeting system; KARAT passive infrared search and track (IRST) system; and TULGAR advanced helmet-mounted display. These systems were developed to enhance situational awareness, survivability, and mission effectiveness in increasingly complex operational environments.
ASELSAN’s presence at Paris Air Show 2025 also coincided with its 50th anniversary, marking five decades of engineering excellence and global contribution. ASELSAN’s booth attracted strong interest from high-level delegations, reaffirming its role as a trusted provider in the international defense and aerospace industry.
ASELSAN has been selected as one of five global firms awarded outline agreements to advance NATO’s Modular Ground-Based Air Defence (Modular GBAD) Concept Stage. This key achievement in one of NATO’s high-visibility programs highlights ASELSAN’s strong position and recognized expertise in the air defense domain.
NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has signed outline agreements with ASELSAN, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Thales, and Raytheon to launch Concept Study #1 under the Modular Ground-Based Air Defence (Modular GBAD) Programme. Each company will submit independent system architecture concepts by September 2025, laying the groundwork for future studies on modularity and emerging technologies. The initiative aims to develop technical solutions that transform standalone or partially integrated GBAD systems into fully interconnected modules within a unified GBAD architecture.

ASELSAN signed its first Technology Transfer of Production (ToP) agreement in South Africa with PAMODZI Group, bringing new momentum to its regional growth. The agreement enables local manufacturing of ASELSAN’s ASTELA P25 3710 handheld radio and marks a major step in expanding sustainable partnerships across South Africa.
ASTELA P25 3710 radio family addresses critical communication needs in public safety and security fields. Through local production, the partnership aims to build long-term operational capacity while supporting South Africa’s industrial development and strengthening knowledge sharing with local partners. The initiative reflects ASELSAN’s commitment to delivering high technology solutions that adapt to local requirements in different regions.
With operations in South Africa since 2011, ASELSAN emphasizes on broader cooperation beyond system supply. The company actively contributes to defense capacity building across the region through training, technical support, and local collaborations. Strengthening its ties with regional partners, ASELSAN continues to support national security and the development of local defense ecosystems.
ASELSAN has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace to integrate SEDA 100 Gunshot Detection System into next-generation armored vehicles. The agreement reflects ASELSAN’s growing international footprint and deepening cooperation with key global defense players.
Under the MoU, the two companies will work together to equip Hanwha’s future armored platforms, intended for Republic of Korea end users, with SEDA 100 Gunshot Detection System. This move marks a strategic milestone in ASELSAN’s long-standing commitment to defense collaboration with the Republic of Korea.
SEDA 100 is engineered to detect supersonic projectiles and pinpoint shooter locations using advanced acoustic technology. The system operates effectively in all environmental conditions, provides GIS-based alerts, and offers seamless integration without the need for calibration.
At Eurasia Rail 2025, ASELSAN signed two key agreements to advance Türkiye’s national rail transformation, including a €70.6 million contract with TÜRASAŞ for high-speed train systems and another contract with BOZANKAYA to develop Türkiye’s first nationally produced tram engine and traction system.
The contract signed with TÜRASAŞ, witnessed by Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, covers the delivery of key subsystems, including the main transformer, traction and auxiliary converters, traction motor, and TCMS, developed entirely through ASELSAN’s in-house engineering. The high-speed train, designed for an operational speed of 225 km/h, will feature the aselRAIL CESUR™ EMU driver, a first in Türkiye, combining dual motor drive, auxiliary power unit, battery charger, and liquid cooling in a compact, high power-density configuration.
Under the agreement with BOZANKAYA, the tram engine and traction systems will be developed using fully national engineering and local production capabilities, representing a major milestone in the localization of light rail technologies. These contracts strengthen Türkiye’s domestic rail capabilities and mark a new milestone in ASELSAN’s role in advancing national transportation technologies.

Curated by Borsa Istanbul, the index highlights companies with outstanding environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance, where in each metric ASELSAN scored over 90 points out of 100. Since 2021, ASELSAN has embedded sustainability into its corporate strategy, guiding decisions and long-term goals, investing in renewables, applying eco-design, and using sustainable materials.

The art project celebrating ASELSAN’s 50 years of excellence, brings together 21 artists from 14 countries, working to transform ASELSAN’s decommissioned metal parts into monumental artworks inspired by nature. Participating artists represent Argentina, Australia, Brazil, France, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Russia, United States and Türkiye. Using the design philosophy of biomimicry, their sculptures, some reaching five meters in heigh, offer an artistic interpretation of ASELSAN’s technological journey through the lens of natural form and rhythm.
