ASELSAN has been awarded a three-year framework contract by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to supply Identification of Friend or Foe (IFF) Interrogator Systems for Man-Portable Air Defense Systems (MANPADS). As one of the few providers of Mode 5 IFF systems, ASELSAN will deliver mission-critical solutions ensuring safer and more confident engagement decisions across Allied forces.
With more than two decades of experience in IFF technologies, ASELSAN offers a comprehensive portfolio, covering long-range and short/medium-range interrogators, combined interrogator/transponder units, man-portable systems, naval configurations, and standalone IFF system solutions. All systems comply with NATO standards and can operate with both older systems and the latest secure identification technology. This contract underscores NATO’s trust in ASELSAN’s proven IFF expertise and its ability to deliver secure, mission-critical technologies.
By extending Mode 5 interrogation to the MANPADS layer, the agreement represents a significant step in strengthening identification discipline, interoperability, and operational confidence across the Alliance’s most time-critical air defense missions.
