Supplier Application and Evaluation Process

All applications are received via the ASELSAN Supplier portal where they are evaluated based on the category which the applicant's company profile relate to. Suppliers are categorized as; Sub-contract, Manufacturer, Distributor/Seller, Service Providers and Construction and Infrastructure Suppliers. ASELSAN values the role of the suppliers in its operations and thus the supplier evaluations are carried out by equal importance as well. In this respect ASELSAN considers site inspections for administrative, social, environmental and technical competency checks as a vital part of its Supplier Evaluation Processes.

Through ASELSAN Supplier Portal, ASELSAN continuously monitors and measures the performance of its local suppliers on various areas including but not limited to Design, Production, Quality, After Sales Support, Occupational Health and Safety, Administration, Communication, Social Supply Chain. The findings of ASELSAN are being reported to Suppliers as a part of ASELSAN’s Supplier Mentoring and Risk Assessment Program.

ASELSAN expects from its suppliers to be aware of the ASELSAN’s Integrated Management System and to operate internally in line with ASELSAN’s environmental and social stance regarding ;

• Effective usage of resources

• Effective usage of energy, water, paper, etc.

• Reduction of wastes

• Reduction of pollution

• Monitoring CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions to mitigate the effects of global climate change

• Protecting biodiversity

• Elimination of excessive working hours and child labor

• Compliance to labor laws and regulations

As a part of supplier mentoring efforts, ASELSAN shares trainings and best practices with regard to regulations for environmental, administrative and social aspects with its suppliers through “Gücümüz Bir” (Powerful Together), which is an interactive communication platform that intends to strengthen local industrial ecosystem by supporting companies in order to increase their competency in various technical, social, administrative and environmental areas.

Procurement Methods

Procurement activities are executed as specified in related ASELSAN Procedures with or without tender bid method.

While the overall costs in procurement activities are of great importance to ASELSAN, high quality in production and in-time delivery criteria are regarded as well. ASELSAN aims to sustain the maximum level of competition possible depending on the required specifications and evaluates the quotations received in accordance with this criteria.

ASELSAN acts in line with the ASELSAN Ethical Principals in all the procurement activities and thus expects and supports all the suppliers to comply with these principals and work accordingly.

ASELSAN is not obligated with the Public Procurement Law.

Unless stated otherwise, all ASELSAN orders are executed in compliance with the General Purchasing Terms and Conditions.
