Turkey's technology base ASELSAN won the tender for signaling system solutions of the Gebze-Darıca Metro Line, which has a great importance for the Gulf region, at a cost of 17 million euros. In the tender for the project, ASELSAN took the lead by giving the strongest bid in terms of competition and scope.
Work on the project, where signatures were signed with EZE Construction, the main contractor, started quickly. Gebze – Darıca metro line, where a total of 28 vehicles (7 sets) will serve, is 15,5 km. It is long and consists of 11 stations. The metro will have a signaling system defined as an operator-free operation (CBTC GoA4).
Passenger Capacity Will Increase
Thanks to the original signaling technology developed by ASELSAN with its own resources, the service time intervals between the trains moving in the same direction will be reduced and the passenger capacity will be increased with the Communication Based Train Control System, which has started to be used in metro lines.
Automated Metro Signaling System
Communication-Based Train Control System (CBTC); It consists of Vehicle Superior, Line Length and Control Center components. The original driverless metro signaling system developed by ASELSAN in previous signaling projects will also be used in this project. On-Vehicle Signaling System; It performs functions such as receiving the data transferred from the Control Center via the communication system, processing, transferring it to the relevant units in the train, directly intervening in the train by operating automatic train protection functions in case the train does not comply with the specified limitations, calculating the precise position, speed, status data of the train and notifying the Control Center. System; It will also perform critical functions such as positioning, train protection, train integrity control, door and speed control.
While information and driving safety are ensured with the technology developed by ASELSAN, important innovations are implemented in terms of energy efficiency. In addition, metro transportation system operator and metro user, which are very important features; system ease of use, remote management, rapid detection of faults and rapid intervention, as well as minimization of delay in metro services are also included in the ASELSAN System.
ASELSAN also took part in the Istanbul Metro
ASELSAN previously took part in the Automatic Train Control System Hardware and Software Development Project, U1 – Gayrettepe – İstanbul New Airport Metro Signalization Project and U1 – Halkalı – Istanbul New Airport Metro Signalization Project in the new 68 metro vehicle set (train) to be used on the M1 - Yenikapı-Otogar-Airport-Kirazlı-Halkalı Metro line line.
ASELSAN aims to meet all railway signaling needs of Turkey in general with the signalization projects it carries out. Before ASELSAN took office as a domestic and national signaling technology manufacturer, the signaling market was completely provided by foreign companies. ASELSAN has eliminated dependence on abroad in this field with the design and solution it has developed.
