Symbolizing Türkiye’s growing engineering capability in electro-optical technologies and its strategic vision for defense industry independence, TOYGUN successfully completed its first flight operations with KIZILELMA in November 2025. This milestone confirmed not only the maturity of the system’s design, but also its readiness for integration with next-generation aerial platforms.

Common limitations observed in conventional electro-optical systems such as low contrast, atmospheric distortion, and resolution constraints are effectively addressed through TOYGUN’s intelligent image processing algorithms. The system enables clear identification of low-contrast targets during both day and night operations. Its thermal imaging performance is particularly effective in high-altitude and maritime missions where environmental conditions are more demanding.

In addition to KIZILELMA, flight tests with Türkiye’s next-generation platforms including KAAN National Combat Aircraft and ANKA-3 Stealth Jet UAV are scheduled to begin in 2026. The TOYGUN family also includes mission-specific configurations optimized for UAV operations.
Looking Ahead
Between 2025 and 2030, TOYGUN is expected to undergo extensive field trials across multiple national and international platforms. As the product family continues to expand with new mission configurations, TOYGUN is positioned to become a critical enabler within both national and allied defense ecosystems.
