The terms "wearable technology", "wearable device" and "wearables" are all electronic or computer technologies that represent accessories and clothing that can be worn comfortably on the body. Today, people are more inclined towards wearable technology than portable technology. Modern society is increasingly moving towards lighter and more mobile technologies. Wearable devices with many functions, such as smart watches and glasses, are frequently used for various purposes, especially for health monitoring.

As in the rest of the world, interest in semiconductor technologies has increased in Turkey, especially in the 2000s. In particular, research on microelectronics and sensors contributes to the development of technology in this field by showing its impact on wearable technologies.

In order to follow the developing technologies and produce its own technology, ASELSAN conducts original studies in the field of wearable technology. In this context, it is aimed to develop auxiliary systems that can be carried without interfering with body movements in order to increase human performance, improve their abilities and utilize these abilities with high efficiency. For this purpose, studies are being carried out to develop wearable sensors, provide data and energy transfer, store and receive energy and evaluate data.
