ASELSAN continues to lead in security and defense technologies with MİDAS, an AI-powered solution designed to safeguard borders, critical facilities, pipelines, and railways. The system sets a new standard in intrusion detection with its advanced threat recognition capabilities.
MİDAS: Transforming the Future of Intrusion Detection
ASELSAN continues to lead the way in security and defense technologies with MİDAS, a cutting-edge solution for safeguarding borders, critical facilities, pipelines, and railways. Utilizing AI-powered detection algorithms trained on real-world data, MİDAS stands among the most advanced systems in the field of intrusion detection systems.
Traditional security systems for long perimeters rely on active sensor technologies that require high energy consumption, frequent maintenance, and significant operational costs. MİDAS eliminates these challenges by using standard fiber optic cables as sensors, enabling motion detection over long distances without additional power sources.
The system detects acoustic waves caused by movement along fiber optic cables and processes these signals through an AI-driven algorithm to generate alerts. It can classify various security threats, including human movement, vehicle activity, fence cutting, and unauthorized digging. Additionally, it enhances railway security by detecting rockfalls near tunnels. The system operates effectively both underground and on fences, offering flexible deployment options.
The AI-powered intrusion detection algorithm ensures high accuracy with minimal false alarms, continuously improving by learning new threat scenarios. Its sensitivity can be tailored to specific operational environments, making it a highly adaptive and ever-evolving security solution. The system is designed to be cost-effective and adaptable, with the most suitable configuration selected based on the application area.
MİDAS is available in two configurations with a 50 km long-range version and a 2×10 km short-range version. By the end of 2025, a 100 km dual-mode configuration will be introduced, further expanding the system’s capabilities. Currently, MİDAS secures 3,000 km of oil and natural gas pipelines, border areas, military bases, and critical facilities with 24/7 monitoring. This coverage is set to expand to 5,000 km, reinforcing its role as a leading security solution in large-scale infrastructure protection. Beyond pipeline security, new solutions for energy transmission line protection are in development and will soon be deployed nationally.
With MİDAS, ASELSAN continues to push the boundaries of surveillance technology, offering an advanced security solution that enhances operational efficiency and strengthens the protection of critical infrastructure. By integrating AI-driven threat analysis and fiber-optic detection, ASELSAN reinforces its position as a global leader in next-generation security solutions.
