ASELSAN, Türkiye’s leading defense company, is raising the bar in airborne electro-optics with ASELFLIR 600 - a next-generation electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance, and targeting system tailored for high-altitude long-endurance (HALE) UAVs. Building on the proven success of ASELFLIR 500, this advanced system features a powerful 25-inch gimbal with common aperture and is engineered to deliver superior detection, recognition, and identification (DRI) capabilities. Set to enter serial production in early 2026, ASELFLIR 600 stands as the most capable EO solution in its class, offering unmatched performance for strategic, long-range missions.

Next-Generation Imaging and Targeting Performance

ASELFLIR 600 integrates multiple high-performance sensors into a compact, rugged structure optimized for high-altitude operations. It houses an HD mid-wave infrared (1280x1024) camera, a full-HD day TV (1920x1080) camera, an HD short-wave infrared (SWIR) sensor, and a full suite of advanced laser systems including a laser range finder and designator, pointer and illuminator, and spot tracker. With extended range capability, and thanks to its high-power, low-divergence laser, ASELFLIR 600 ensures accurate target engagement even at extended distances.

The system’s multispectral common aperture—combining visible, MWIR, and SWIR channels—offers superior range and resolution under all operational conditions. This larger aperture, paired with ASELSAN’s proprietary optics and a larger primary mirror, dramatically increases energy intake from the scene, enhancing long-range DRI performance. Whether operating in daylight, darkness, or adverse weather, ASELFLIR 600 delivers crystal-clear imagery and precise targeting data.

Stabilization, AI Integration, and Operational Reliability

ASELFLIR 600 sets a new standard for line-of-sight stabilization with its 4-axis gimbal and 2-axis optics configuration. This structural integrity ensures superior image quality and precise tracking, even during dynamic flight conditions such as takeoff, landing, or turbulence. Engineered with advanced vibration damping and built for long-duration HALE missions, it minimizes operator workload while maximizing mission effectiveness.

As another transformative feature, ASELFLIR 600 incorporates AI-based imaging algorithms, automatic target recognition, and real-time object tracking capabilities. These innovations dramatically improve decision-making speed, situational awareness, and overall operational efficiency, making ASELFLIR 600 an intelligent, self-reliant sensor suite for next-generation defense missions.

From ASELFLIR 500 to ASELFLIR 600: A Strategic Leap Forward

Compared to ASELFLIR 500, which is widely deployed on MALE and HALE UAVs such as TB2, TB3 AKINCI, ANKA, ANKA-3 and AKSUNGUR; ASELFLIR 600 offers significantly improved performance at higher altitudes and longer ranges. While ASELFLIR 500 established ASELSAN as a leader in EO targeting with its compact size and advanced stabilization, ASELFLIR 600 raises the bar with its extended laser range, higher-resolution sensors, AI-driven enhancements, and multi-domain operational flexibility. It is also scheduled to serve on Türkiye’s next-generation HALE platforms including AKINCI and AKSUNGUR, further broadening its mission applicability.
